Vandersteen Audio

This archived feature is an interview of Richard Vandersteen of Vandersteen Audio by our own Ken Gould. Richard answers questions about how he started his company (now over 25 years old), talks about his loudspeaker design philosophies, and gives us some great insights about how he delivers so much value in his products. To begin listening, click one of the links below labeled "Start Lecture".

During the course of the interview, Richard and Ken refer to several design facets of Vandersteen speakers, including the minimum baffle, open air structure, the coaxial design of the VCC-1 center channel, and the way in which beautiful cosmetics are combined with the minimum baffle design in the flagship Model 5. The pictures shown below should help elucidate these concepts to those who have never seen Vandersteen speakers.
